Hey AIESEC!!!!!

Do you talk about leaders or are you one of them?

AIESEC Iceland opened MCP and MCVPs' applications for the year 2006-07!!! MCP and two VP positions are also opended for the international members!!

I strongly believe that the more you put into AIESEC the more you get out of it. Working in team with professional and ambitious individuals can be challenging, fun, intense but never boring.

Time spent in MC will reward you in many ways – traveling, making new friends, loads of knowledge, ideas, decision making, striving and driving, planning, organizing, managing and leading. It is a priority and it is a privilege. Also, it is EXPERIENCE and it’s up to you if you’ll make it a lifetime experience of yours.

I encourage you to take a step forward and apply to MCEB 2006-2007! Here are the deadlines and links where you can get candidates' booklet and applications!

Penguins are so cute....

Guys, if you haven't seen the movie ''March of the Penguins'' then I really recommend you to do that while they are showing it in Háskólabíó (University Cinema). I saw it today and was very impressed - amazing shots, amazing story about the cycle of life in the nature. The beauty of it and drama. The film itself is a documentary made by biologist Luc Jacquet about Emperor penguins, their mating and breeding cycle that takes place entirely on the polar ice.

''The film crew lived in the assembly of huts for 14 months total in photographing their subjects. During that time, neither the crew nor the footage (some 120 hours of it) left the site. For much of the shoot, transportation of any kind out of the area was impossible. The crew was stranded in a part of the world where a human walking across the ice doesn’t even leave footprints; they are blown away as fast as he steps. A mammalian corpse is freeze dried and blown away overnight.''

If you want to smile, if you want to see something positive and informative then go for it! ;o)

Hugs,
Sandra

P. s. Film is in french with icelandic subtitles.

Svavar in sexy T-shirt or sexy Svavar in a T-shirt?

Guys,

do u know what? Svavar had probably nothing to do (or maybe it is his way of relaxing?), so he started to search randomly through some things at office. He found bag full of white T-shirts with hat, size approximately S/M.

And what more?! He felt in love with them, so he had to dress up one immediately. Just have a look at following picture. Do you see how happy he is????

If you also feel like you have to have a picture with this T-shirt, come to office and we can arrange it! (this offer is valid mainly for boys ;)

Please, poste some comments how you like it.

International Christmas dinner

In AIESEC in Iceland we have a tradition to hold the international dinners. The last two years we were having international Christmas dinner. One was yesterday at Heba's place.

We had Icelandic food - potatoes, salads, herring and meat (smoked lamb - hangikjöt :o) , staked pork and another lamb) and many different kinds of sweets from at least four countries. Yummy... everything was so delicious!!!

After we packed our stomachs with a tasty food, Svetla and Arturs were serving hot wine with spices in Latvian style. Even though we were just 14 people we could sing a ''Silent night'' in seven different languages - Czech, English, Latvian, Lithuanian, German, Norwiegan and Icelandic.

Endre was playing piano and we were singing. To say truth, this moment really touched me...it felt very good to be around you, folks, it felt like Christmas…

We ended the evening with changing Christmas presents. Christian came up with this cool game that made a present change really funny and exciting. It took us probably half an hour to get finally a present that we are going to bring home, but I'm sure that everybody loved the game. I think though, that at the end of the day, I was the only lucky one, because I got '6' the last second of the game and got the present I wanted the most. :oP

Thanks everybody for a memorable evening!

Kisses,
Sandra
